Stole Making and Personal Icons
A Workshop Presented by GALA, the Guild and Association of Liturgical Arts.
Stole Making: Part 1
Explore a wide variety of stole designs, how to choose fabrics, and the basics of stole construction. Donna Anderson will guide you through the process of planning your stole. You will construct your stole at a follow up workshop on October 21, 10:00-2:00. No experience required for this workshop. Lunch is provided.
GALA:
A lively discussion of how GALA might support your parish and your Altar Guild. Information about the Vestment Exchange at Convention in October and the collecting of vestments and altar linens to be retired.
Personal Icons:
We will create small personal icons for our home or office using found materials, and basic craft supplies. You can bring your own image or select one from our supply. We’ll work with decoupage, acrylic paint, glue, beads, jewels, and sacred images. This is hands on. We’ll experiment with a small project so you can design and generate your own project at home. No prior experience or skills are required.
Cost: $10.00, scholarships are available.
